My journey to cleaner living started more than a decade ago when my father was diagnosed with an aggressive hormonally driven cancer. Ever since I’ve been mindful about what I put into my body and onto my skin, because this can directly influence our health and hormones. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite non-toxic beauty products that have become part of my daily routine. (I think you’ll love them too!)
Beauty Products You’ll Love
Skin Gym Rose Quartz Crystal Facial Roller: Facial rollers are an easy self-care ritual for relaxing and improving circulation. Regular massaging can reduce puffiness and drain toxins from your skin, helping smooth fine lines. A facial roller can also be used with your favorite eye cream, oil, or serum, as it helps them better penetrate your skin.
Pro Tip: Pop it in the fridge for an added cooling sensation and to help with de-puffing.
Native Deodorant: Finding a natural deodorant that actually works can sometimes feel next to impossible. One brand I’m currently loving is Native. Their deodorants are non-toxic (aluminum, paraben, phthalate and talc free,) plus their scents are lovely! I find some natural deodorants are too grainy and harsh for my skin but these are gentle enough for me. Native also carries a sensitive skin line and a mini travel pack so you can sample the different scent options. My personal favorites are “Blackberry and Green Tea” and “Lavender and Rose.”
Vital Proteins Collagen Creamer: Adding this creamer to tea or coffee is a super easy way to sneak more collagen into your daily routine. Collagen is an amino acid that promotes healthier hair, stronger nails and bone health. It also helps create a more youthful complexion, as it boosts the skin’s elasticity. As we age, collagen production begins to slow down, so a dietary supplement like this can do wonders. If you’re not a fan of coffee or tea, check out the other collagen supplement options Vital Proteins has to offer.
EVER’s Forever Longwear Liquid Lip Color and Flash Lip Gloss*: These lip colors have become my go-tos! Forever is a long-wearing liquid lipstick that leaves a full-coverage, matte finish while Flash creates a lighter, glossier look on the lips (while also making them look fuller!). I love layering Forever lipstick in “Flirt” under Flash in “Blush Nude.”
Zuzu Luxe Lip Liner and RMS Beauty Lip Liner: These are my favorite brands for non-toxic lipliners that are highly pigmented for long wear and easy to apply. I love the Zuzu Luxe liner in “Innocence” nude and “Fraise” pink. For RMS Beauty, my go-to is “Daytime Nude.”
Vered Therapeutic Balancing Face Oil: This oil has become a must-have! It’s perfect for all skin types including problematic skin, like mine, because it helps to balance the skin and calm inflammation and redness. Chickweed, speedwell and black cumin seed oil are just a few of the ingredients that help this facial oil balance sebum production and provide skin with antioxidants. Along with calming the skin, CBD and hemp oils also are high in key vitamins like A, C and E, so they’re great for aging skin too.
EVER Out the Door Palette*: This is the perfect palette for the woman on the go because it has blush, highlighter, bronzer and eyeshadow all in one, so it makes application a breeze! The shades look gorgeous on any skin tone and they’re highly pigmented and long wearing. I take this sleek compact with me when traveling, to the gym… You name it! Because it’s so simple to use, I can create a pretty, natural makeup look in about 5-8 minutes.
Pro Tip: Ever’s corresponding brushes don’t come with the Out the Door palette, but they’re numbered for easy application and you’ll love them!
